Building Applications: Commercial

The City of Forney Community Development Department requests that all for all non-residential or commercial projects, developers must submit THREE sets of plans and specifications to the City. In addition, a plot plan with all construction documents, must be submitted with each set of plans and specifications. If not already obtained, those wishing to do business in the City of Forney MUST also obtain a Certificate of Occupancy. The following chart includes several non-residential permits for developers, residents, etc. Each permit has its own dedicated page along with instructions on how you can start the application process today. Interested parties can also download the Commercial Permit Submittal Requirements from the City of Forney. Residents and developers may now complete the permit process online, including paying for permits, licenses and certificates. All prices labeled on documents, are the price of the permit and do not include online fees.

All contractors that complete work in the City of Forney must be registered through the City. If you are not registered, please complete the Contractor Registration Application and pay the necessary $30 fee per license. (Electrical and Plumbing contractors are exempt from registration fee.) To complete the Contractor Registration Application, please attach the application to the Contractor Registration Form and pay the fee.
