The City of Forney is excited to announce that A Thousand Horses will be headlining the 2017 BBQ Cook-Off . A fresh fusion of classic sounds – a hybrid of Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers, Black Crowes and Exile on Main Street, ‘A Thousand Horses’ has a distinct sound of low-country with old school soul, that many residents will love. Their working-man’s anthem “Preachin to the Choir” is currently on country radio and follows their successful debut “Smoke”. The chart-topping track made Country Aircheck history as the highest debut for a new artist and solidified then band as the first this decade to score a No. 1 with their first single on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart.
Opening the show is local favorite Clay Thrash. Clay has spent the last eight years or so perfecting his own unique blend of country music and rock and roll with a voice that is a pleasing and an unmistakable blend of Radney Foster and Lyle Lovett with Tom Petty Drive. Countless shows and songs have led him to where he is now, on the brink of releasing his debut self-titled album. This will be Clay's second time perform at the Spellman Amphitheater and we are excited to have him back
