Forney Police Department to Offer Citizens Police Academy Course in 2017

Justice Center

The Forney Police Department (FPD) will soon be offering a Citizens Police Academy beginning in the spring of 2017 for Forney residents (we need to determine if this will be offered to only residents). The FPD is currently in the process of developing a one-of-a-kind class that will give residents a unique, hands-on experience of law enforcement practices such as recruitment, training, narcotics, firearms and the School Resource Officer. The academy will also provide the opportunity for residents to learn about crime scene analysis in addition to the Patrol, Crime Investigation and Traffic divisions. The academy will serve as an educational experience and give residents an opportunity to build relationships with those who protect and serve the community. Be on the lookout for upcoming information on the academy in the near future. If you would like more information about the academy, please contact Detective Clay at 972.564.7606.
