Forney City Manager James Fisher is excited to announce that he has filled two key positions on his executive staff. Wendle Medford and Ron Sullivan have both been offered and accepted the positions of Assistant City Manager and Public Works Director, respectively.
Mr. Medford joins the staff at the City of Forney from the City of Murphy, where he had previously served as the Director of Innovation and Technology since 2010. Mr. Medford has also spent a number of years at both the City of Dallas and City of Hurst and has a combined 15 years in a municipal government leadership position. A United States Air Force veteran, Mr. Medford holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from LeTourneau University and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. He has completed requirements for a Texas Certified Public Manager designation from the William P. Hobby Center for Public Service from Texas State University. Mr. Medford also holds certifications as a Government Chief Information Officer from the University of North Carolina and Public Budgeting and Financial Management from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Currently serving as the interim-Public Works Director, Ron Sullivan is a registered professional engineer with more than 35 years in local government in cities such as Arlington, Bedford, Palestine and Paris. Mr. Sullivan was also previously employed with the Texas Department of Transportation. A civil engineer graduate from Texas A&M University in College Station, Mr. Sullivan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that is second to none in field of public works.
Mr. Fisher said of each hire, “I am very excited to welcome both Wendle and Ron, on a full-time basis at least, to the City of Forney. Each has the background, skills and passion for local government that will help us strengthen the services we provide to our residents and accomplish the goals set forth by our City Council.”
Each will assume their roles on January 30, 2017.
